“Recalled kids meds =ER trips”

CDC researchers  found that recalled cough and cold over the counter medications accounted for too many of the ER visits for small children.
The good news
The numbers of ER nonfatal trips of young children between 0 and 4 years of age dropped by more than half, from 2,790 visits to 1,248 nationwide in the past 14 months.
The bad news
If parents had thrown away these old cough and cold childrens’ syrups when they were recalled in 2007 these children would not have gotten sick.
Some uninformed parents are still giving their infants and toddlers these medicines, and young children are still finding ways to get a hold of these old medicines themselves.
Please throw these old medicines away.
