In the spring of 2003, three young Americans Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey and Laren Poole ages 24, 21 and 19 traveled to Africa in search of a story to capture on video. What they found was a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them. They story they found changed their lives and many others lives forever.
This is a documentary of the children of war involving weapons, abductions and abuse. The children are the victims. The “Invisible Children: rough cut” film exposes the effects of a 20 year-long war on the children of Northern Uganda. These children live in fear of abduction by rebel soldiers, and are being forced to fight as a part of violent army. It is sad, but hopeful.
You too can make a difference one person at a time.
From the American Academy Of Environmental Medicine
Immediate Moratorium On Genetically Modified Foods May 19, 2009
The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) today released its position paper on Genetically Modified foods stating that “GM foods pose a serious health risk” and calling for a moratorium on GM foods. Citing several animal studies, the AAEM concludes “there is more than a casual association between GM foods and adverse health effects” and that “GM foods pose a serious health risk in the areas of toxicology, allergy and immune function, reproductive health, and metabolic, physiologic and genetic health.”
– Dr. Amy L. Dean, D.O. Public Relations Chair Member, Board of Directors American Academy of Environmental Medicine 734-213-4901 email@example.com
The AAEM calls for:
* A moratorium on GM food, implementation of immediate long term safety testing and labeling of GM food.
* Physicians to educate their patients, the medical community and the public to avoid GM foods.
* Physicians to consider the role of GM foods in their patients’ disease processes.
* More independent long term scientific studies to begin gathering data to investigate the role of GM foods on human health.
“Physicians are probably seeing the effects in their patients, but need to know how to ask the right questions,” said Dr. Jennifer Armstrong, President of AAEM. “The most common foods in North America which are consumed that are GMO are corn, soy, canola, and cottonseed oil.”
AAEM is an international association of physicians and other professionals dedicated to addressing the clinical aspects of environmental health. AAEM The American Academy of Environmental Medicine was founded in 1965, and is an international association of physicians and other professionals interested in the clinical aspects of humans and their environment. The Academy is interested in expanding the knowledge of interactions between human individuals and their environment, as these may be demonstrated to be reflected in their total health. The AAEM provides research and education in the recognition, treatment and prevention of illnesses induced by exposures to biological and chemical agents encountered in air, food and water.
Beth Catlin loves to make and send birthday cards to people. She sends them to neighbors, friends, acquaintances and many people she has never met. She has created these special greetings for people for 40 years. Even if she has only met you once and you never are in contact with you again she will remember your birthday for as long as she lives and send you a card.
This special gift comes from the fact that she is a savant and her special gift to the planet is her ability to remember names, addresses and birthdates. She makes and mails about 3,800 birthday cards a year to people she has me
The 50-year-old is a savant, who while being diagnosed as mentally challenged also has the amazing ability to recall numbers, dates and, of course, birthdays with computer-like precision.
When Catlin was first profiled by the Patriot-News in 1995, she was averaging about 1,400 cards a year. This year, she surpassed 3,800 with each date, name and address cataloged in her brain for life.
Most of the funding to continue her work comes through Elizabeth’s job at the S. Wilson Pollock Center for Industrial Training, a workshop for people with disabilities. All donations are appreciated. Creating and sending birthday greetings is as much a part of her daily routine as going to work and doing her chores.
On September 22, Elizabeth’s birthday people get to give back to her for her kindness and gift card to them over the years. She receives more than 200 cards, many bearing gifts of stamps.
Please send Beth a card and some stamps as a surprise for her birthday and wonderful service at:

For many years Integrated Medicine has known that many factors play into creating cancerous conditions in the body. Some of
these include, but are not limited to eating foods that create an acidic condition in the body like meats, milk products, processed foods and sugar. Anything that changes the pH to acidic from the normal alkaline can create a breeding grounds for cell/DNA changes including long lasting deep seated repressed emotions.
Now Cedric Garland, DrPH, professor of family and preventive medicine at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, and his research team explain that with enough vitamin D and calcium present, cells adhere to one another in tissue and act as normal, mature epithelial cells. If there is a deficiency of vitamin D, cells can lose their sticking ability as well as their identity as differentiated cells. When this happens, they may revert to a dangerous stem cell-like state and become cancerous.
In 2008, Dr. Garland and his colleagues found an association between a lack of sunlight exposure, low vitamin D and breast cancer. In earlier work, they showed linkages between increased levels of vitamin D3 or markers of vitamin D and a lower risk for breast, colon, ovarian and kidney cancers, too
FDA guardians of the tobacco industy and not the US public
The FDA now has the role of approving the marketing and consumption of a product that directly promotes heart disease, strokes and cancer. By deciding to take the role of “censoring” the tobacco companies advertising instead of focusing on regulating the heath issues around smoking, the FDA, will now lend its stamp of approval to a product that openly destroys peoples’ health.
The newest group of regulations that has been touted as so good and as the first time the FDA has decided to “regulate” the tobacco industry contains the follow provisions:
1. It bans candy cigarettes and fruit-flavored cigarettes, but doesn’t even require cigarette companies to disclose a list of all ingredients they use until nearly a year-and-a-half after it is on the market.
2. It bans the use of the word “light” from cigarette packages, which is meaningless, because smokers have grown accustomed to buying cigarettes with color codes that indicate a “light” designation.
3. FDA in the position of approving the marketing and consumption of a product that directly promotes heart disease, strokes and cancer.
So the FDA, now approvals and gives its blessing to tobacco a product known and research has proved to be harmful to peoples’ health, maybe that is not news. The FDA also encourages the use of big pharm. drugs and services, while targeting the natural health food and product industry as potentially harmful to health.
FDA are our guardians of our health and safety –something is wrong with this picture. It deserves the lame turtle award.
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love. agreement
2. Don’t take anything personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering. agreement
3 . Don’t make assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life. agreement
4. Always do your best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.
Yes ,we can change the world -one dedicated person at a time.
Don Miguel Ruiz’s philosophy come from the ancient Toltec wisdom of the native people of Southern Mexico. The Toltec were ‘people of knowledge’ – scientists and artists who created a society to explore and conserve the traditional spiritual knowledge and practices of their ancestors. The Toltec viewed science and spirit as part of the same entity, believing that all energy – material or ethereal – is derived from and governed by the universe.
Don Miguel Ruiz was a medical doctor and surgeon in Mexico After an automobile accident, he returned to his roots as Toltec and began healing, teaching, lecturing and writing during the 1980’s and 90’s.
Thank you for your inspired guidance, wisdom and peace you share.
Some say things like you are a pain in the neck when they are mad at some one. Then often times end up with a stiff neck or some discomfort in their neck .
Science now has found another link between the graying of one’s hair and stress. Now “genotoxic stress,” or stress from the toxic effects of chemicals or energy in our environment can damage DNA, like ultraviolet light. The researchers found that this cellular stress diminishes the supply of melanocyte stem cells (MSC) – cells in hair follicles that are responsible for making the pigment-producing cells that give hair its color.not necessarily age related and the stresses in one’s life.
Integrated medicine has known about this connection for year and routinely treat and help poeple destress. Applied kinesiology and homeopathy hves perfected the art of relieving the stress from physical, memory, emotional, and situational stres.
Melanocyte stem cells are so-called “adult stem cells.” They are not mature hair cells and they can continuously divide and supply our hair with the pigment producing cells it needs to have color. When a melanocyte stem cell matures into a pigment producing cell, or melanocyte, it is called differentiation.
For more information on ways to decreases stress in your life.
Stem cells can develop into many different cell types in the body during early life and growth. In many tissues they serve as a sort of internal repair system, dividing essentially without limit to replenish other cells as long as the person or animal is still alive. When a stem cell divides, each new cell has the potential either to remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a more specialized function, such as a muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain cell. Without these cells human tissues could not survive and we would die when the first cells wore out.
Bone marrow stem cells from humans has restored the lost hearing and vision in embryonic guinea pigs. This may be the key to unlock the first step toward helping people. Another group of researchers grew functioning eyes in tadpoles using frog cells.
Stem cell research hold extraordinary promise for treating a wide range of deadly and disabling diseases that plague millions. How did they grow hearing cells?
By cultivating stem cells into neuron-like cells in petri dishes and then harvesting and transplanted them into the inner ears of the guinea pigs within three months later, the animals appeared to have some hearing, The goal was to regrow the tiny hair cells that are essential for mammals to hear. What damages these hair cells?
“When sensitive hair cells in the inner ear of humans and other mammals are killed — by loud noise, autoimmune attack, toxic drugs, or aging — the damage is permanent. Humans cannot naturally replace them, other animals like birds and reptiles can automatically regenerate hearing cells.
Michael Zuber and colleagues at the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, grew functioning eyes in blinded frog embryos using stem cells.
In frog usually stem cells only form skin when grown in vitro. Zuber’s team of researchers discovered thatby adding seven different stimulating genetic “factors” eye formation genes were turned on..
When they transplanted the transformed cells into frog embryos, the resulting tadpoles could see out of those eyes, Zuber told the meeting. Genetic tests showed that the stem cells had transformed, a process called differentiation, into many different cell types. all cell types needed for vision were formed again.
